RB Aveion Cason: Veteran RB To Be Released

An NFL source has told Scout.com that veteran Lions running back Aveion Cason has been released from the club.

The ninth-year pro has appeared in 56 games with two starts. He's averaged 4.5 yards per carry on 126 runs and has caught 64 passes for 655 yards.

Cason also provides value on special teams both in coverage teams and as a kickoff returner. He's averaged 23.4 yards per kickoff return during his NFL career.
